The sliding window or sliding door has a sash frame (2) provided with several sliding panels (1) that are guided displaceably in parallel tracks (8,9) extending in the displacement direction of a leg (3) such that sliding panels are movable between open position and close position. The guide profiles (4) are connected to the leg. Each guide profile is provided with an interior portion (6) and thermally insulated outer portion (7). The parallel tracks are formed in the interior portion of each guide profile.
