PORÖSER ALPHA-SIC-HALTIGER FORMKÖRPER MIT DURCHGEHEND OFFENER PORENSTRUKTUR
Porous alpha -silicon carbide-containing molding having a gas-permeable open-cell pore structure, comprises lamellar crystallites, which are connected to a coherent, continuous skeleton structure, where the skeleton structure is made of more than 80 wt.% alpha -silicon carbide, based on the total weight of silicon carbide. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing porous alpha -silicon carbide-containing molding, comprising (a) providing a porous beta - silicon carbide-containing molding, and (b) heating the beta - silicon carbide-containing molding to a temperature of 1800-2500[deg] C; and (2) a filter comprising at least one porous alpha -silicon carbide-containing molding, where the molding is formed as honeycomb filter element in which the inflow- and outflow openings of the flow channels are alternately closed.
