The surface laying unit (100) has an useful layer (102) and a connecting structure (104) which is provided directly on an underside of the useful layer and which is designed for connecting to an underlying surface (300). The useful layer has certain thickness, and is formed as a board. The connecting structure is adapted for detachable connection with the underlying surface, particularly detachable with manual muscle strength or tool-free. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an underground laying unit for laying with other underground laying units on underlying surface, and for use as a base for surface laying unit; (2) an assembly for forming a coating, particularly a parquet base, on an underlying surface; and (3) a method for laying an underground coating, particularly parquet.
