Insulating plaster composition for forming a sound- and/or thermal insulation of a building wall- or -ceiling, comprises aerogel particles and at least one binder, which is a cement-containing binder, preferably a cement-containing binder combination. Independent claims are also included for: (1) forming a sound- and/or thermal insulation of a building wall- or -ceiling, comprising processing insulating plaster composition, by adding water and/or at least one other starting material to form a pasty mass, and applying the composition to layers manually or automatically, preferably by a spraying method, to the building wall- or - ceiling to obtain a total layer thickness of 20-120 mm, preferably 30-80 mm; (2) sound- and/or thermal insulation of the insulating plaster composition, where the sound and/or thermal insulation has a thermal conductivity = 40 mW/(mK), preferably = 30 mW/(mK) and/or is non-combustible; and (3) a thermal insulation system comprising a sound- and/or thermal insulation of the insulating plaster composition and a reinforcing layer of a mineral reinforcing compound.
