The key (1) has a characteristic receiving part (2) consisting of a series of interchangeable receiving elements (22), where each element supports a particular key operation. The element is threadedly mounted upon an assembly rod (25), which is common for all the elements and fixed in a gripping head of the key. The elements present co-operating forms between each other and/or with the rod to ensure a locating pin effect in rotation around the rod during assembly of the elements on the rod. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a locking key.
