The guide slider (1) has a first leg (2) whose inner surface forms right angle with an inner surface of the second leg (3). A guide pin (10) is centered on an outer side of the first leg. A mounting pin (6) is placed on the inside of the first leg and extended transversely to an opening (14) in second leg. An aperture is arranged and configured such that a fastener (25) such as countersunk head screw is inserted through the aperture to cooperate mechanically with fixing pin and to deform the pin on positive and/or frictional fastening of the guide slider on the casement (18). An independent claim is included for a method for fastening the functional element.
