The invention relates to an accessory for covering, by arranging adjacently to other accessories of the same type, at least one section of the surface of a metal sheet (1), especially a metal sheet used for cladding, which is permanently attached to a subjacent structure by means of fastening members. The accessory comprises, on each edge thereof (8 to 11; 71 to 74), at least one tab (13 to 17) for applying to a receiving area (Z) on the metal sheet (1), said at least one tab forming a single component with the edge of the accessory, said tabs of the accessory being shaped in such a way as to cooperate with said fastening members so as to be able to attach the accessory to the receiving area and not overlap the identical tabs of at least one adjacent accessory.
