Ceramic compositions and method of manufacture of ceramic electrodes comprising said compositions
Ceramic compositions that contain a high percentage of tin oxide, between 85-100% by weight, together with ingredients to improve sintering, such as copper oxide and zinc oxide, or electrical conductivity, such as antimony oxide, and organic additives to improve plasticity, and a procedure for manufacturing ceramic electrodes of high electrical conductivity with said compositions by means of forming by extrusion and/or pressing, drying, sintering in an air atmosphere, followed by a thermal treatment at a lower temperature in a reducing atmosphere; finally the machining of the electrodes may be carried out in an unfired and/or fired state. The invention presented affords the main advantage of obtaining conducting ceramic electrodes that are highly durable and have high conductivity.
