The invention is a domestic oven (1) having at least one cooking chamber (12) encircled by an outer body (10); a door (20) providing access to the cooking chamber (12) in an open position; and a lock mechanism (40) providing locking of said door (20) in a closed position. The lock mechanism (40) of the domestic oven (1) comprises a triggering element (42) which activates a lock, which is in locked position, in a releasable manner, and which is placed on a door lever (30) in a hidden manner on an accessible side of an outer wall (21) of the door (20).
