A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The invention provides an inflatable boom (10) comprising: ? a body having a longitudinal direction (L), a proximal end, and a distal end (14), and including at least a first inflatable pouch (20) and a second inflatable pouch (20') that are separate from each other in the longitudinal direction, the second pouch being situated between the distal end and the first pouch; and ? a feed line (24) that extends along the body, being in fluid-flow connection with each of the first and second pouches. The invention is characterized by the fact that the boom further comprises an inflator sheath that extends between its proximal end and its distal end (14), and having a first end for air admission and a second end for air discharge, the second end opening out into the feed line in the proximity of the second pouch, so as to enable the second pouch to inflate before the first pouch.
