Methods for cementing wells, using foamed cementing compositions
A well cementing composition comprises water, an inorganic cement and a gas generating agent. The gas generating agent may contain materials that release hydrogen gas, carbon dioxide gas or nitrogen gas or combinations thereof. Such compositions are useful for cementing across permafrost zones. The initial heat of hydration is lower, decreasing the tendency to melt the permafrost. In addition, the compositions set more quickly, minimizing the chance of freezing before the composition develops strength.
