GYPSUM PLATE ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a light-weight and easily assemblable fire-protection duct or shaft assembly. In particular, the present invention relates to a duct or shaft assembly having sidewalls comprising at least two gypsum plaster plates made of a substantially uniform mixture comprising: - At least 50w% of gypsum, or bassanite, or calcium sulphide (CaS), or a mixture thereof; - between 0w% - 15w% fire retardant; - between 0w% - 15w% fibres; and - 20v%-50v%, preferably 30v%-40v% air cavities; wherein, said at least two gypsum plaster plates are fastened by means of at least one fastener that extends and passes through the thickness of at least one of said gypsum plaster plates and fixedly enters into the second gypsum plaster plate, such that no additional stabilising structure, such as a metal or wooden plate or an intermediate layer comprising fibre.
