LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR LOCKING A DOOR WITH RESPECT TO A DOOR FRAME
The invention relates to a lock assembly comprising a biasing element for biasing the latch with a biasing force in an extension direction from a retracted position towards an extended position and a retaining element to retain the latch in the retracted position with a retaining force, wherein the lock assembly further comprises a first magnet with a first magnetic field that extends out of the housing at the front plate, wherein the first magnet is movable from a first position to a second position when the first magnet is attracted to a magnetic material in a door frame, wherein the first magnet is coupled to the latch to convert the movement of the first magnet into a displacement of the latch into a release position in which the biasing force exceeds the retaining force.
