The invention relates to a method for fastening or fixing a glass pane (2) or a sheet-like structure in a frame (3), in particular for fixed glazing units. The frame (3) has an outer glass stop (4) with a smaller clear width than the glass pane (2), on which stop the glass pane (2) is placed, if appropriate via a seal (19). After placing the glass pane (2) on the glass stop (4), there is arranged at least one glass holder (1) which lies on the surface of the frame (3) and bears by way of a pressing face (5) against the glass pane (2) at the edge region of the latter. This glass holder (1) has a bore (6) which is provided at an angle (a) to the glass plane and is intended for a screw (7), wherein the fastening of the glass pane (2) is effected via the glass holder (1) and a contact pressure on the outer glass stop (4) is produced by the screw (7) which is provided in the glass holder (1), is guided obliquely via the bore (6) and is screwed into the frame (3).
