APPAREIL DE VOIE COMPORTANT UNE AIGUILLE ET UN CONTRE-AIGUILLE
The invention is related to a turnout switch comprising a stock rail (1) and a switch point (9) made of the switch point rail, each of them including a head (2, 10), a neck (3, 11) and a base (4, 12) formed by flanges arranged on two sides from the bottom end of the neck (3, 11), wherein each of said stock rail (1) and said switch point (9) has a distal portion and a proximal portion, said proximal portions being located on the side of the base (12) of the switch point (9) that is connected to the rail of the main track; each of the heads (2, 10) of the stock rail (1) and of the switch point (9) has a rolling surface with a slope of at least 1/60 in respect of the horizontal, and has a wear line identical to that of the main track rail. The head (10) is made pointed by machining the switch point rail, and the base (12) is produced by rolling only, without machining. The proximal portion of the switch point (9) is produced by forging or by forging and machining. Vertical inertia (Ix) of the switch point rail is higher than or equal to 60% of vertical inertia (Ix) of the stock rail (1) and the main track rail. Minimum lateral inertia (Iy) of the switch point (9) is at least equal to 100% minimum lateral inertia (Iy) of the stock rail (1) and the main track rail. Clearance (E) between the end (22) of the base (12) of the switch point (9) and the stock rail (1) is at least 2 mm when the switch point (9) is pressed against the stock rail (1). When the switch point (9) is pressed against the stock rail (1), the length of contact between them is at least 80% of the length of the inclined contact side of the stock rail.
