A guiding device for guiding a sliding door (2, 3) that is guided along a profiled rail (15) comprises a profiled guiding element (5, 7) along which the sliding door (2, 3) can slide, and at least one guiding piece (6, 8) that can be mounted on the sliding door (2, 3); the profiled guiding element (5, 7) and the at least one guiding piece (6, 8) can be coupled to one another in such a way as to perform a guiding action along the profiled guiding element (5, 7); the profiled guiding element (5, 7) and the at least one guiding piece (6, 8) can be coupled to one another in such a way as to engage each other at least partially in a form-locking manner. The invention also relates to a cabinet-type piece of furniture.
