INK COMPOSITION FOR CLEAR GLOSS CERAMIC COATINGS
Fritless compositions and inks for the decoration of ceramic objects which include, in their formulation, zinc borate combined with other raw materials, the absence of frit conferring the said compositions with the capacity to be milled (in the form of a solvent-based suspension) to be able to obtain inks that are characterised by having very narrow PSD and with an upper bound that is under 1 µm. The inks prepared using these compositions can be applied in standard printheads over glazed ceramic objects, allowing a glossy appearance to be obtained after the corresponding firing process, due to the adequate composition in oxides of the mixtures in which the melting point provided by the zinc borate is fundamental.
