JOIST HANGER
The joist hanger comprises a support bracket 12 which itself comprises a base portion 14 and two parallel side portions 16 that extend upwards from opposite ends of the base portion. A resilient portion 22 has a first end 24 connected to one of the side portions and protrudes towards the opposite side portion. There may be a pair of resilient portions located on opposite side walls which may comprise substantially straight members that form an angle of less than 90 degrees with the plan of the side portion. The resilient portions may contain an aperture and be formed from a punched portion of the respective side portion. The joist hanger may also comprise at least one top flange portion, adjoining at least one of said two side portions at a longitudinal edge with at least one of the side portions adapted to abut a face-fixing surface.
