The invention relates to a method for connecting profiled parts (2). At least one profiled part (2) and a heating surface (7) of a heating element (6) are brought into contact with each other in a joining direction in order to melt the at least one profiled part (2) in the welding region of the profiled part prior to a joining process together with the other profiled part (2). The aim of the invention is to provide an improved method and an improved device for connecting profiled plastic parts in corner regions of profiled sections (2) to be joined together, wherein even the discharge of the melt can be controlled and the shaping process of the welding region can be influenced during the connection process such that a reworking process can be completely or at least partly omitted. This is achieved in that delimiting elements (4) are used by means of which a flow and deformation of the melt product can be controlled. The delimiting elements (4) are moved towards each other at an angle of 15° - 180°, preferably at a right angle.
