LOCKING DEVICE FOR WEAR ASSEMBLY
1. A lock (16) for releasably securing a wear member (10) to earth working equipment to protect the equipment from wear during use comprises a collar (222) to engage and be rotatably secured in a hole (66,67) in the wear member, the collar including a threaded opening (258); a threaded pin (220) received into the threaded opening that when turned moves the threaded pin inward or outward between an extended position where the lock retains the wear member on the earth working equipment and a retracted position where the wear member can be installed on and removed from the earth working equipment; and a latching detent (252) to secure the threaded pin in specific locations for the extended position and the retracted position. The latching detent can include a biased tooth projecting outward on the pin and two spaced apart recesses (256,260) within the threaded opening to receive the tooth in the extended and retracted positions respectively. There can be provided a plurality of outwardly-projecting lugs (236, 237) to engage a retaining structure in the hole and secure the collar in the hole.
