VERFAHREN ZUR BEREITSTELLUNG EINES HYDRAULISCH ERHÄRTENDEN BINDEMITTELS UND VERWENDUNG DES DARAUF BASIERENDEN ZEMENT-GRUNDSTOFFS
A method for providing a hydraulically hardening binder free of asbestos fibre is intended to enable treatment of an asbestos-containing building material bound with calcium silicate hydrate, especially with cement, employing a thermal treatment step and using up as little resources as possible, while observing the relevant limits for health-hazard substances. The invention does this by subjecting an asbestos-containing starting material to both a thermal treatment and a dry deagglomeration, the thermal treatment seeing the starting material first heated in a homogeneous temperature environment over a heating period with rising temperature to a target temperature of at least 600°C and at most 800°C, preferably of about 700°C, and then held at the target temperature over a treatment period of at least 60 min and at most 180 min, preferably about 90 min, before being cooled to environment temperature.
