SOLARSTRAHLUNG-REFLEKTIERENDE BESCHICHTUNG UND DEREN VERWENDUNG
The invention relates to coatings which reflect solar radiation and contain 4.5 to 45 wt.% binders selected from among alkyd resins, acrylic resins, epoxy resin esters, polyester resins and mixtures thereof, 1.5 to 31.5 wt.% white pigments, 0.1 to 7 wt.% hollow articles, and 2 to 35 wt.% metallic pigments. Said coatings are used to reduce the amount of heat generated under the effect of the weather on metal parts such as rails, in particular railroad rails in continuous welded tracks. The invention also relates to a method for coating a track in which the rails of the track are first cleaned with a solvent, whereupon the coating is applied to the clean rails.
