The invention relates to an oxidic composition, comprising at least 95 wt% of calcium oxide and silicon oxide having a molar ratio Ca/Si in the range of 0.5 to 2.5. The oxidic composition contains a semi-ordered calcium silicate hydrate having an apparent crystallite size of 15 nm or less, and less than 35 wt% of crystalline phases that are different from the semi-ordered calcium silicate hydrate. The oxidic composition can be converted into a curing-accelerator composition, which is in particular suitable for hydraulic or latently hydraulic binding agents.
