The invention relates to a torque transmission device (26) for a gate drive device (20), wherein the torque transmission device (26) comprises a torque transmission unit (27) which is designed to transmit torque and comprises a drive member (28) connectable to a drive unit (22), an output member (30) connectable to a component (12) of the gate (10), a traction means (32) operatively connecting the drive member (28) to the output member (30), and a traction means guide unit (40), which is designed in such a way that, as torque is transmitted, a slack side (70) of the traction means (32) can be moved by means of a tight side (72) of the traction means (32) in the direction of said tight side (72).
