The invention relates to an elongate scaffolding element (18), in particular in the form of a scaffold diagonal. The scaffolding element (18) can preferably be hooked at one end by means of a first connecting element (30) onto a projecting recess (20) of a scaffold component by pivoting the scaffolding element (18) around the longitudinal axis thereof or around an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof. At the other end, the scaffolding element (18) can comprise a safety bolt which can be introduced into a second projecting recess to prevent pivoting of the scaffolding element (18) about the longitudinal axis thereof or about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof. The safety bolt can, in particular, be secured to the scaffolding component by a safety element. The first connecting element (30) can in particular be hook-shaped, wherein a projection (24) at the free end of the first connecting element (30) can engage behind the edge (26) of the first projection recess (20). A spacing section can be provided between the projection (24) and a scaffolding element body (36) and extends away from the longitudinal direction of the scaffolding element body (36). The projection (24) can extend perpendicularly ±20°, in particular perpendicularly ±10°, preferably perpendicularly ±5° from the spacing section.
