The invention relates to a method for drilling a hole in the ground using a drilling apparatus, in which method a drill rod is driven in rotation, to the lower end of which a drilling tool is detachably fastened via a connecting device, and a drilling depth is detected by means of a measuring device. According to the invention, the drilling tool is initially placed on the ground surface, and a position is used as a reference height of the measuring device.
