The present invention relates to a fire protection glazing (1) for preventing the passage of fire and smoke from one room to another room in the event of fire, having at least two, vertically, adjacent and coplanar arranged fire protection panes (2), which are held at their vertical edges by means of two profile elements (3), at least one profile element (3) is arranged at each of the vertical edges of the fire protection panes (3), a joint opening (7) being defined between the adjacent horizontal edges of the fire protection panes (3). The present invention further relates to a method for establishing such an inventive fire protection glazing (1).
