RAPIDLY DEPLOYABLE FLOOD DEFENCE SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a rapidly deployable flood defence system 11, along with its method of installation. The flood defence system comprises at least one barrier cover 8, each comprising a plurality of laterally-extending crossbeam housing tubes 3 being stacked in a generally vertical direction. Each crossbeam housing tube 3 comprises an inflatable crossbeam 7 disposed within the crossbeam housing tube, an end retaining tab 4 at each end of the crossbeam housing tube 3, and a plurality of rear support retaining tabs 5 spaced along the lateral length of the crossbeam housing tube 3. The barrier cover 8 also comprises a front apron 1 and a rear apron 2, each at a base of the barrier cover. A plurality of support tubes 21 extend in the generally vertical direction, with one support tube placed at each end of the crossbeam housing tubes 3 and through the plurality of end retaining tabs 4 to hold the support tube in place. A plurality of additional support tubes 21 positioned along the lateral length of the crossbeam housing tube 3 are held in place by the plurality of rear support retaining tabs 5. Each of the plurality of support tubes 21 is held in the generally vertical direction by a base post 25 which is configured to be secured to the ground. Each of the additional support tubes 21 positioned along the lateral length of the crossbeam housing tube 3 comprises an additional base post 25 positioned rearwardly, and an extendable support 24 which extends between the additional base post and the additional support tube 21.
