A banknote storage container handling system includes a transporter (200) that transports a banknote storage container (10), an unlock unit (300) located adjacent to the transporter (200) to unlock the banknote storage container (10), a detector (220) that searches the banknote storage container (10) for an identifier, and a controller (100) that determines a surface of the banknote storage container (10) having a keyhole (12) based on data obtained from the detector (220), and controls the unlock unit (300) to unlock the banknote storage container (10).
