The invention relates to a system (1) for shielding a trench (100), which comprises poles (2), cross-members (7 to 11) supported by the poles, which to this end each comprise means for receiving said cross-member, shielding parts (12 to 14) adjacent to one another and positioned in a space that is left between the lateral side of the trench and the cross-members, struts (15) extending transversely and configured to come into abutment against the cross-members or against the poles arranged opposite on the two lateral sides of the trench.
