Fence post for a fence constructed from fence posts with panels in between, whereby the fence post is executed with two opposite grooves on either side of the fence post in which a panel with a side edge can be enclosed, characterised in that the fence post is made of one single metal sheet or band which is folded into an H-profile with a tubular square central part and two parallel legs on either side to form said groove.
