ROLLER FOR CERAMIC SLAB KILNS AND METHOD OF MAKING SUCH A ROLLER
The invention relates to a roller 1 for ceramic slab kilns, comprising a roller body 10, having an outer surface 20 which in use is intended to come into contact with ceramic slabs, said roller body 10 being made of a first refractory material having a mullite content of not less than 40% by weight. The roller 1 comprises a protective coating 30, which covers said roller body 10 at least at said outer surface 30. The protective coating 30 is made of a second refractory material having a zirconia content between 15% and 45% by weight and an average thickness of not less than 45pm. The invention also relates to a method of making the aforesaid roller 1.
