The invention relates to an automated parking system for a plurality of vehicles to be parked next to one another and/or one behind the other on at least one parking deck, wherein the vehicles each stand on pallets (30) that can be moved in the longitudinal direction and/or transverse direction. The essential feature is that the packing deck has a plurality of permanently installed transport modules (1, 2), which are arranged next to one another and/or one behind the other such that said 10 transport modules (1, 2) have a plurality of upwardly projecting conveying elements (4, 4a) with a horizontal axis of revolution which — at least provided they follow one another in the desired transport direction — can be driven synchronously and serve to movably support a palette (30) and to transfer same onto an adjacent transport module 15, and such that, at least for some transport modules (2), the conveying elements (4, 4a) can be pivoted about a vertical axis with respect to their direction of conveyance.
