A toilet bowl hygiene apparatus (1) comprising:at least one receptacle (3) for containing toilet cleaning substance;at least one adhesive portion(25, 26) for mounting to the receptacle for attaching the receptacle to a wall of the toilet bowl; and,a diaphragm (51) of resilient material that is located across a top of the receptacle formed with one or more openings;wherein the receptacle includes a number of other openings (14) for passage of flush water containing the cleaning substance therefrom.
