The invention relates particularly to a substance intended to be transformed with a view to producing a material intended particularly for construction, the substance comprising a recycled textile-based stiffening component which is intended to form a reinforcement, and a matrix component intended to form a matrix and comprising an animal and/or plant-based adhesive, the matrix component having a mass that is proportionally greater than that of the stiffening component. The invention also relates to a material (1) intended specifically to form a construction element, comprising a composite structure comprising a textile-based reinforcement (2) and a matrix (3) made from an animal and/or plant-based adhesive, the matrix (2) having a mass constituting at least 10%, preferably at least 15% and no more than 30%, preferably no more than 25%, of the total mass of the dry substance. The invention also relates to a method for making the material from the substance.
