A method of recycling waste including mechanically processing the waste and mixing the mechanically processed waste with a binding agent. The waste is preferably unsorted waste. By removing the need to sort the waste, the cost of the recycling process is reduced. The mechanical processing may include using a first process, such as shredding, producing a particle size in the range of 0.5-20 mm, and a second process, such as crushing or pulverising, producing a particle size in the range of 0.005-0.4 mm. The binding agent may be an organic binder, such as a polymer or resin, or inorganic binder, such as one comprising calcium carbonate and calcium sulphate hemihydrate. The mixture of mechanically processed waste and binding agent may be further mixed with a liquid to form a moulding material. The liquid may include water, preferably wastewater. Pigment may be added to the moulding material, which may also be poured into a mould and cured to form a three-dimensional object.
