AUXILIARY LOCK FOR PREVENTING MOVEMENT OF LOCKING ELEMENT
A method for door security includes providing an auxiliary lock (10), which in a locked orientation prevents movement of a locking element (38) mounted in a door (36). The locking element (38) is actuated by a locking-element locking mechanism (40) which is different than the auxiliary lock (10). If the auxiliary lock (10) is in the locked orientation, then even if an authorized key is used to try to unlock the locking- element locking mechanism (40) in order to try to open the door (36), the auxiliary lock (10) prevents movement of the locking element (38) and prevents the door (36) from being opened, and even if the authorized key is used to try to lock the locking-element locking mechanism (40) in order to try to lock the door (36), the auxiliary lock (10) prevents movement of the locking element (38) and prevents the door (36) from being locked.
