The invention relates to a strip-shaped plate (1) for panelling a wall or ceiling surface (F), wherein an adhesive surface (8) is provided on a rear side (3) of the plate (1), wherein the adhesive surface (8) is formed by a double-sided adhesive tape (8a) and is covered by a protective film (9), to a system (15) comprising at least one such plate (1) and a spacer (12), wherein the spacer (12) is designed to be fitted onto the at least one plate (1), and to a method for panelling a wall or ceiling surface (F) by attaching several strip-shaped plates (1).
