Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren (1) zur Inbetriebnahme einer elektromechanischen Sperrvorrichtung (30) an einem Ort (201-208), wobei die Sperrvorrichtung (30) einen elektronischen Identifikator (ID) umfasst, und wobei das Verfahren (1) die folgenden Schritte umfasst: Empfang (118) einer ortsspezifischen Benutzereingabe (71) durch ein, insbesondere mobiles, Gerät (10) zur Definition des Ortes (201-208); insbesondere wobei der Empfang (118) durch eine Vornahme der ortsspezifischen Benutzereingabe (71) an dem Gerät (10) erfolgt, Zuordnung (119), insbesondere erstmalige Zuordnung, des Identifikators (ID) zu dem definierten Ort (201-208) zu Bildung einer ID-Ort-Zuordnung, anschließende Sendung (120) der ID-Ort-Zuordnung durch das Gerät (10) an eine Recheneinheit (60).
