A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A light directing system 1 comprising a plurality of telescopic elements 2. The elements may slide relative to each other such that the system is in either a collapsed or extended configuration. A first light directing element may comprise a first locking projection element 5, such as a hook or tab, for securement and impediment of motion with a second light directing element having a second locking element such as a hole, aperture, recess or eye to receive a portion of the first light directing element. The first locking element may be about a perimeter of a first end of a light directing element comprising a portion which is perforated, cut, lipped and/or hooked; the second locking element may be about a second end of the light directing element. The perimeter edge of a light directing element may be bent or hooked. A plurality of elements may form a tube, duct or conduit to direct natural light to the inside of a building. The element interiors may be reflective. One of the elements may form a mouth 3, another forming an outlet 4, such to connect to the roof and ceiling of a building.
