Alkali activated binder comprising an aluminosilicate precursor and an activator, wherein the aluminosilicate precursor comprises a blend comprising from 10 to 50 wt.-% of a slag, which has an X-ray amorphous content below 50 wt.-% and a free lime content from 1 to 10 wt.-% with respect to the slag, and from 50 to 90 wt.-% of a natural pozzolan and/or a natural tempered pozzolan, which has an amorphous content of at least 30 wt.-% with respect to the natural pozzolan and/or natural tempered pozzolan, and the activator has a modulus ≤ 3 and is an alkali silicate or a mixture of an alkali silicate and an alkali hydroxide.
