GUIDED LEAK SOURCE LOCATION FINDER IN WATER DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
The invention relates to the field of water distribution network, particularly to a method for locating a leak in a water distribution network. The method comprises the steps of: Providing a directed graph that represents the water distribution network (10), the nodes of the graph comprising at least one reservoir-node (Nr), at least one junction-node (Nj), and at least one demand-point-node (Nd).Providing, under nominal conditions, a nominal reservoir flow (fr) and a nominal reservoir pressure (pr), and a nominal demand flow (fd).Constructing a calibrated hydraulic model (11).Computing, for the calibrated hydraulic model (11), a computed nominal junction flow (fmji) for each junction-node (Nji) of the water distribution network (10).Measuring, a measured reservoir flow (fmr); and, if, for at least one of the reservoir-nodes (Nri), the measured reservoir flow (fmri) is greater than the nominal reservoir flow (fri) plus a first predefined flow (f1pd):measuring a measured next junction flow (fmjk+1) of a selected next junction-node (Njk+1) in downstream direction, while the measured next junction flow (fmjk+1) in the selected branch is greater than the computed next junction flow (fjk+1) plus a second predefined flow (f2pd).
