POLYURETHANE-BASED COATINGS AND COATED SUBSTRATES
This disclosure relates to polyurethane-based coating materials and coatings and coated products made therewith. In one aspect of the disclosure, an aqueous coating composition includes water, and, dispersed in the water, a functionalized anionic polyurethane present in an amount in the range of 20-80 wt% of the composition on a dry solids basis; a water-insoluble transition metal crosslinking agent present in an amount in the range of 0.5-30 wt% of the composition on a dry solids basis; and a pseudoplastic thickener in an amount in the range of 0.02 wt% to 4 wt% on a dry solids basis; and at least one colorant (e.g., a near-infrared reflective pigment) present in an amount in the range of 0.2 wt% to 40 wt% on a dry solids basis.
