POROSITY GRADIENT PREFORM ARCHITECTURE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE COMPOSITES
A porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) includes at least one first fabric-resin layer (102) and a second fabric-resin layer (104), each including a plurality of fibers (112) and a resin (114). The second fabric-resin layer (104) is positioned on top of the at least one first fabric-resin layer (102). A weight ratio percentage of the resin (114) sequentially decreases from a center of the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) toward an outer surface of the porosity gradient fibrous preform to create a path through the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) for infiltration of a fluid.
