The invention relates to a sensor system for a protective fence, being of the type of fence comprising a series of posts anchored to the ground, between which different types of mesh are disposed, including means for detecting an intrusion attempt, such that the sensor system comprises: at least one cable sensor, camouflaged on and/or embedded in the fence itself, having a variable number of fibre optics; shielded linking tubes continuing the cable sensor in entrances, tunnels, bridges, elevated paths etc.; fusion boxes in the fence for accommodating fibre optic fusions of the cable sensor and the shielded linking tubes; and concentrators for controlling zones, where sensor cables join together or via the shielded linking tubes, where the different events of the different zones joining there are determined, and from where same are transmitted to a control centre.
