The invention relates to a method for operating a window of a building, said window comprising a window frame and a glass pane that is at least partially covered with a transparent photovoltaic film. The method comprises a step of determining at least one value of an electric parameter originating from the photovoltaic film and a step of determining a value of a heat flow passing through the glass pane of the window, using the at least one electric parameter value.
