Precast building element connector
A connector 4 for connecting reinforced concrete building elements 1 and 2. The connector comprises a rigid bar 12, with first and second ends, and the first end defining a connection to a horizontal reinforcing rod 26, which may be a hole or the rod may be permanently attached. The bar also defines, adjacent to the second end, a transverse through-hole for a restraining rod 14. A rigid faceplate 6 is attached to the rigid bar at an intermediate position and between the faceplate and the second end there is a threaded hole with a bolt 18. The restraining rod and its through hole may be threaded. The connector may be used in the manufacture of a cast concrete building element where it is mounted into a mould with the faceplate at the mould surface. The connector connects to a female connector, comprising upwardly projecting teeth 24 positioned on another building element and kits of parts including the male and female parts are disclosed.
