Closure member
A bung comprises a relatively plain upper surface bordered by an upwardly extending outer wall 12 and includes a downwardly extending inner wall 10 from the external surface of which projects one or more locking members 14. Each locking member may be inclined outwardly towards the upper surface of the bung. A bung for closing an opening (28, Figure 2) formed inter alia in a surface of a hollowed item of furniture is also disclose. An equivalent bung for closing an opening formed in a surface of inter alia an item of furniture which includes an internal space in communication with said opening into which a flowable material such as sand can be introduced for weighting purpose is also disclosed. The underside of the upper surface of the bung may include a plurality of strengthening ribs 26 which are radially extending. The bung may be of circular construction and formed by an injection moulding process from a high strength plastics material. An item including a bung for closing an opening formed in a surface of said item through which a flowable material such as sand can be introduced for weighting purposes is also disclosed.
