Acoustic hanger
The hanger comprises a primary base portion 3 with first and second side portions 5, 7 which are parallel to each other and extending from opposite edges of the primary base portion. The side portions each have a secondary base plate 9, 11 extending from an edge of the side portion the secondary plates being parallel to the primary base portion. Each of the side portions comprises a number of recesses 17 on its opposing longitudinal edges and a number of cut out apertures 19 which are aligned along the central longitudinal axis of each side portion. The recesses and apertures may be arranged such that no longitudinal axis line can be drawn unimpeded from one end of the side portion to the other, this restricts sound being directly transmitted through the side portion. Also claimed is a joist assembly for a floor comprising the said hanger.
