A ground anchor 10 comprising a hollow elongate anchor member 12 locatable in the ground, a fixing member 18 slidably located in the anchor member and an adjustment member 20 threadably engageable on the fixing member, wherein a part of the fixing member is locatable in the anchor member. The adjustment member rests on an upper end of the anchor member and the extension of the fixing member is dependent on the position of the adjustment member. A flange 14 may be provided around an upper end of the anchor member. A locating sleeve may be provided immediately below the flange and may be made of plastic. A stop member may be on the upper end of the fixing member in use. The anchor may be used for mounting memorials, particularly gravestones, to the ground.
